When we fall or bang ourselves, it can really hurt. Sometimes you might see a lump where you’ve hurt yourself, or it might turn into a bruise and can hurt when you touch it for a few days.
If you bang yourself, or you’re with someone who has, first check that there’s no cuts or bleeding. If there isn’t, go and get something cold and hold it against the place that hurts. If you’re getting ice or something from the freezer, make sure you wrap it in a tea towel before putting it on your skin. Hold it in place for about half an hour.
If you bang your head, make sure you tell an adult straight away to check you over and make sure you don’t need to go to hospital.
