The Womens network was launched in 2022 to provide a forum for female staff members, those who identify as females, and allies to share experiences, provide support and opportunities, promote equity, and help the organisation understand the female experience.
The NWAS Women’s Network has been set up to provide a safe space for NWAS’ female staff members and those who identify as female to come together to talk, share ideas and develop. âIt has been created to amplify the voices of all women within NWAS.
Many staff members at NWAS are female, but women still face shared issues around health, careers, and responsibilities. The network will provide a collective and influential voice on behalf of female staff members within NWAS, to support the organisation to change and improve the experience of staff and patients in relation to gender equality. We believe that networking female colleagues across the organisation, who are at different career stages and use different skills to support a myriad of communities, will help empower them, give them an opportunity to form a collective voice and help each other.
The Network will aim to achieve its purpose through:
- Support
- Lived experiences
- Celebration
- Consultation and constructive challenge
- Communication
- Education and Development
