It’s really important to us that children understand how the ambulance service works.
The earlier people are educated about the different aspects of the service, the better understanding and awareness they will have if they ever need to use it – not only will they know how to use the service appropriately, it will also be a much less scary experience.
We love to hear that so many schools, pre-schools and youth groups are proactive in teaching young people about the work of the emergency services, and we want to help as much as we possibly can. We have a fantastic selection of fact sheets, activity books and games which can be explored in our online Ambulance Academy to teach children about the ambulance service both in school and at home.
While we welcome requests for school or community group visits to support learning about the service, we unfortunately don’t have a team to solely deal with these requests and rely on staff giving up their own time to come along.
