Michelle Turner, EMD, answered the call, provided CPR instructions and advised them to collect the community defibrillator and how to use it. Emergency Medical Technician Gavin Palin and Enhanced Community First Responder (ECFR) Max Kelly, who are part of the Nantwich Community First Responder Team, were first to arrive on scene and help the man. The ambulance crew arrived minutes later and transported the patient to hospital.
The patient is still in hospital but is said to be making a good recovery.
Sam Sellars, Community Resuscitation Development Officer, said, “This was amazing teamwork by all involved and displays the true meaning of ‘the chain of survival’ – call for help, start CPR, use an AED and advanced life support.”
Well done to all involved!
