Urgent and emergency care clinicians work within our contact centres and use their professional clinical judgement to assess health and clinical needs of patients over the telephone. This requires generalist and specialist skills to assess and deliver care to patients across all age groups.
They provide assessment, medication advice, and health information supporting individuals to access the appropriate level of care including advice to manage their symptoms at home.
Candidates for this position must be either paramedics with current Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration or nurses with current Nursing & Midwifery Council (UK) (NMC) registration. They must have completed their newly qualified period with post registration clinical experience in a face to face primary or acute care setting, emergency department or pre-hospital role.
This role requires strong decision making with excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to use IT systems effectively as well as work across multidisciplinary boundaries.
