Daren joined NWAS in April 2019 and has since led significant advancements in patient care and staff welfare. He has driven the agenda to improve ambulance service culture to create a safe work environment for all.
Peter White, Chairman of NWAS, said: “Daren has demonstrated strong leadership and unwavering commitment over the last five years.
“His strategic vision and dedication to fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation have left a lasting mark on our organisation and the wider ambulance sector.
“Personally, and on behalf of the Board, I want to thank Daren for his commitment and contribution. We wish him every success in his new role.”
Daren comments: “It has been a privilege to lead NWAS and serve the communities of the North West. I’m so proud of everyone who works and volunteers for NWAS and all they do, day in day out. Despite the many challenges over the years, we have a lot to be proud of and the organisation is well positioned to continue to deliver ongoing improvements and improved clinical care well into the future.
“I will leave with mixed emotions, but it feels like the right time to go and explore new opportunities for myself and my family and to leave NWAS in the best possible shape.”
A recruitment process for a new Chief Executive will begin immediately. In the interim, Deputy Chief Executive, Salman Desai, will step into the role.
Peter added:“Salman brings a wealth of experience and knowledge, and I am confident that his leadership will ensure a smooth transition.”
